Intelligence: Haftar dreams of presiding over Libya and Saddam wants to take over the leadership of militias.

The French website Africa Intelligence said that Haftar is looking for a successor to lead his militias as he aspires to take over the position of President of Libya, and he began his campaign early with housing programs, after the failure of his aggression against Tripoli.

The website stated, on Tuesday, that Saddam was working behind the scenes to succeed his father, and that he had previously traveled abroad, to market his plan, especially to Abu Dhabi, but he has not been accepted well by Haftar’s main allies, and he is not popular with the forces that work for Haftar, nor from the general public.

The site confirmed Saddam’s meeting with the Israeli intelligence services in Tel Aviv a while ago, and it seems that he was received positively, according to what Israeli media reported, which considered that Saddam’s project is in line with his father’s strategy.

It is worth noting that Haftar announced in December 2017 the freezing of the bodies emanating from the political agreement before announcing in April 2020 the installation of himself as ruler of the country through what he called the popular mandate.
