The American ambassador to Libya, “Richard Norland”, said that the Turkish intervention in Libya; was the one which stopped the “Wagner” and Haftar attack on Tripoli.
Norland added, in an interview with Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper on Friday, that my main task since I received my mission in Libya in the summer of 2019 was to end Haftar’s attack on the capital, Tripoli, which is what actually happened, but as a result of Turkish military intervention.
Norland emphasized that the Turkish intervention contributed to the progress of political negotiations in Libya.
It is worth noting that “Norland” confirmed that they had evidence of the involvement of “Wagner” mercenaries in the chaos in Chad, as the Chadian elements were training in Libya with Haftar and the mercenaries of “Wagner” who secured a convoy for the Front for Accord and Change, as he put it.
