Al-Swayeh: Security Council resolutions remain on paper unless pressure is put on the intervening countries in Libya.

Member of the Supreme Council of State, Ali Al-Swayah, welcomed, in a statement to Arraed Saturday, the resolution of the Security Council in support of the political process in Libya, adding that many see it as a solution to the political division in the country.

Al-Swayah said that the resolution will contribute to unifying political power and restoring confidence among political opponents after the failure of the existing political bodies to find a solution to get out of this crisis.

Al-Swayah affirms that the Security Council resolutions remain on paper unless there is pressure and force on countries that intervene in the Libyan affairs, directly or indirectly, and impose sanctions on all who obstruct the political path and threaten the security and stability of the country, whether from inside or outside.

It is worth noting that the Security Council, on Friday, unanimously adopted a resolution calling on the executive authorities in Libya and the relevant institutions, including Parliament, to take the measures stipulated in the roadmap to hold the presidential and parliamentary elections on December 24th.
