In conjunction with the Security Council resolutions calling for setting the constitutional base for elections and enacting legislation, Haftar, continues to obstruct any political track in Libya, especially after giving full legitimacy to the Presidential Council as the supreme commander of the army.
Haftar Tours
Haftar is still moving outside the presidential domain, as he visited Egypt without informing the Supreme Commander and met at his headquarters in Al-Rajma with many local and international officials, while the official who holds this status, Mohamed Al-Manifi, did not move a finger towards these suspicious moves.
Haftar appointed a new commander for the districts of Ubari and Ghat, using the status of commander in chief, giving his instructions to monitor and follow up all public facilities and needs and include them in reports sent to him for his perusal, thus removing the powers of the elected municipalities in these cities.
Sirte clashes
Haftar’s militias and mercenaries are still moving without any deterrent in the eastern and southern regions, the most recent of which was the outbreak of clashes with heavy and medium weapons in the city of Sirte two days ago, killing two and wounding others, in a scene indicating the complete absence of the new authority.
