The Director General of the National Institute for Oncology in Misurata, Professor Mohammed Al-Faqih, chaired the Committee for Specialization in Oncology Surgery at the Arab Council for Health Specializations, according to a report published by the Council.
In an exclusive statement to Arraed, Al-Faqih said: The Scientific Council for Oncology Surgery, which he chairs, is newly established, and includes in its membership the directors of Arab centers for oncology surgery, adding that the selection was based on CV, administrative experience, research and supervision of graduate studies.
Al-Faqih explained that choosing him as head of the committee is an honor for the state of Libya, adding that the council will supervise doctors who will engage in training for a period of three years after obtaining a Libyan or Arab fellowship in general surgery.
It is worth noting that the Oncology Committee of the Arab Scientific Council for the Specialization of Surgery gives a certificate of subspecialty in oncology after conducting a standardized examination at the level of the Arab world, according to Al-Faqih.
