The US State Department announces the imminent opening of its embassy in Tripoli.

The US State Department announced the imminent resumption of the work of its embassy in Tripoli as soon as security conditions permit.

This announcement was made by the Deputy Spokesman for the US State Department, “Galina Porter,” Tuesday, according to the Al-Hurra website.

The American move comes after the announcement by French President “Emmanuel Macron” Tuesday, during his meeting with President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manifi, the reopening of the French embassy in Tripoli, starting next Monday.

The US embassy had suspended operations in Tripoli in 2014 after the deteriorating security situation.
