Norland: Commitment to the elections on December 24th is an essential way to improve the investment climate in Libya.

The US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, said Wednesday that continued commitment to the political process that will culminate in the elections on December 24, 2021, is an essential path, to improve the investment climate in Libya.

Norland expressed, in a virtual meeting hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Libya, where Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbaiba met with American companies, his country’s aspiration to work with the Libyan side on ways to “increase the contribution that American investment can make in order to improve the lives of Libyans,” according to the official page of the embassy.

The American ambassador emphasized that his country is aware of the importance of diversifying the Libyan economy, despite its awareness that this matter will require stability and a favorable environment for business.

It is worth noting that the US State Department announced, yesterday, Tuesday, the imminent resumption of the work of its embassy in Tripoli as soon as security conditions permit.
