Libyan Coast Guard forces recovered the bodies of 5 illegal immigrants and rescued another 45 migrants who were on board a wooden boat near the Libyan coast.
The company “Larem Phone”, concerned with immigrant affairs, said Wednesday that the number of migrants on board the boat reached 100, 50 of them lost at sea, explaining that the migrants sought help from the Italian authorities to know the fate of those with them, but they have not received a response yet.
According to what the company quoted, the survivors ’testimonies indicate that the number of victims is greater than the number of survivors, as some of them assumed that 60 people were killed at the maritime borders of the European Union.
The company “Larem Phone” was launched in 2014, with activists in Europe and North Africa, and launched a self-organized telephone line for refugees in distress in the Mediterranean.
It is worth noting that the International Organization for Migration announced in early March that the Libyan Coast Guard rescued 10 illegal immigrants, while 20 other migrants were lost after they drowned due to difficulties in the Mediterranean.
