The date for the opening of the coastal road will be determined according to the committee’s report.

Member of the 5 + 5 military talks sub-committee, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Torjuman, said in a statement to Arraed, on Sunday, that the second phase of mine clearance resumed last Thursday, and included the area extending from Buirat Al-Hassoun to Al-Khamseen Gate.

Al-Torjuman explained that the committee’s mission will be completed within these two days, and the report of what has been accomplished will be forwarded to the military committee, which will determine accordingly the date for the opening of the coastal road.

Al-Torjuman confirmed that the two parties agree that there is no place for mercenaries inside Libya, pointing to the referral of this request in the presence of international observers to the Security Council to issue a resolution on it, and to demand that countries that have mercenaries in Libya to get them out.

It is worth noting that the member of the committee in charge of the demining file, Brigadier Mohammed Al-Torjuman, said earlier that the area extending from Abo-Qrain to Buirat Al-Hassoun (90 km west of Sirte) is now considered safe after the engineering teams finished clearing mines there.
