The joint presidency of the political working group of the International Follow-up Committee on Libya stressed the need for the complete, immediate and unconditional withdrawal of all foreign forces and mercenaries from all of Libya.
The presidency affirmed, according to the website of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, that the holding of free and fair elections requires a favorable political and security environment and the commitment of all parties in advance to respect their results.
The meeting welcomed the briefing presented by the President of the High National Elections Commission, Imad al-Sayeh, regarding the work of the Commission, stressing its important role in making and completing the necessary preparations for the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.
The Presidency praised the progress made in implementing the Roadmap for the Political Dialogue Forum, welcoming the House of Representatives vote to give confidence to the National Unity Government and the resulting peaceful transfer of power, praising the commitment of the new Libyan leadership to hold elections next December.
The joint presidency of the Political Action Group includes Algeria, Germany, the Arab League and the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.
It is worth noting that the UN Political Action Group said on the 26th of last February that the date of the next elections in December must be adhered to.
