Italian Defense Minister “Lorenzo Guerini” expressed that his country wishes to continue military cooperation with the Libyan Ministry of Defense, within the agreement concluded between the two countries.
Guerini added, during a meeting with his German counterpart, Annegret Karenbauer, Tuesday, that Italy will focus in particular on the basic areas of military cooperation, rehabilitation and training, as well as ensuring the support it provides for humanitarian mine clearance activities.
The two sides expressed their satisfaction with the inauguration of the new national unity government, stressing the importance of the stabilization process in Libya.
It is worth noting that the Libyan Ministry of Defense signed in December last year a cooperation agreement with the Italian Ministry of Defense in the military technical field.
