On Monday, the President of the Supreme Council of State, Khaled Al-Mishri, participated in the swearing-in ceremony of the government of national unity, at the headquarters of the House of Representatives in Tobruk, in the presence of members of the new Presidential Council, the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, the President and members of the House of Representatives, and a number of ambassadors and heads of missions approved in Libya.
This visit to the House of Representatives in Tobruk is the first for Al-Mishri, since his election as President of the Supreme Council of the State. However, Al-Mishri offered to go to Tobruk and meet the Speaker of Parliament, Aqila Saleh, and even formed a committee from the House to go to Tobruk and hold meetings there in order to end the political division And unify state institutions.
The Supreme Council of the State and its President congratulated the government and the Presidential Council for the granting of confidence by the House of Representatives, expressing hope for success to the government in its duties, in order to reach the desired goal, which is to hold the elections on the date agreed upon on the upcoming independence anniversary on December 24, 2021.
And before that, the Supreme Council of the State welcomed the steps taken to convene the House of Representatives, which were held in Tripoli and Sabratta and before that in Ghadames, and ended with the Council holding its session in the city of Sirte.
The Supreme Council of State, during its sessions and statements issued by them, affirmed its support for political dialogues as a real option to resolve the crisis, and for the Political Dialogue Forum in Tunis and Geneva.
They held a series of meetings and dialogue meetings in Morocco with the House of Representatives, which concluded with the creation of a consensus between the two bodies, on the composition and distribution of positions in the Libyan state, especially the sovereign ones.
The head of the Justice and Construction Party, Mohammed Sawan, on Monday expressed his “great” satisfaction and pleasure at the government’s constitutional oath session, “the positive atmosphere that prevailed in it, and the messages that some words carried calling for overcoming the past with all its differences and opening a new page for reuniting the homeland and achieving stability.” .
In a post on his personal Facebook page, Sawan praised the step taken by the President of the Supreme Council of State, Khaled Al-Mishri, to participate in the session of the legal oath of the National Unity Government in Tobruk, and he broke all barriers for that.
