US National Security Adviser “Jack Sullivan” said that his country stands with all those committed to holding elections in Libya; Because the Libyans deserve to have their leaders elected through a democratic process, and to re-establish their sovereignty away from the interference and violence of foreign countries.
Sullivan said – in a statement – Friday, that we will work to strengthen accountability for any party seeking to undermine the electoral roadmap drawn up by the Libyans.
“Sullivan” added that now the logic of empty military escalation has failed, and the time has come for countries that have sent mercenaries and weapons that harm the Libyans; To start their withdrawal and peaceful political transition.
Sullivan indicated that there is an opportunity for the Libyans to lay down their arms, peacefully resolve their differences, and participate in a new era of law and order; To write for themselves a more stable and prosperous chapter in their history.
It is worth noting that the US administration under President Donald Trump welcomed setting the 24th of next December as the date for holding elections in Libya, as determined by the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum.
