The Minister of the Interior, Fathi Bashagha, announced, on Tuesday, that he will visit “Barqa” within the framework of national reconciliation, stressing the need for East and West to continue communicating until we reach a consensus stage.
Bashagha added, during a press conference with the directors of his ministry, that he will continue to work until the new government gets the vote of confidence from the House of Representatives. And that he will support the Ministry of the Interior whether he stays in his position or leaves so that the state does not collapse again.
Bashagha clarified that the unity of Libya and the birth of a new authority is the most important gain for Libyans, calling on everyone to support the new government so that it gains confidence and is able to take the country to the elections.
Bashagha indicated that the interior Ministry exists and will work firmly and seriously with a common national spirit, and that action must be taken against political opportunism and corruption.
It is worth noting that the Geneva Political Dialogue Forum succeeded on February 5 in forming a new unified executive authority for the first time since 2014.
