The Arab “Politicians Post” website revealed on Monday, in a report entitled “Pilgrimage to Washington,” that Khalifa Haftar and the departments close to him had hired American service companies, to promote him and his political interests in the American circles of government, especially the Congress and the State Department.
And the report published by Arab website 21 – indicated the value of the sums that Haftar spent on the “lobbies” in four years, which are more than one million and 425 thousand US dollars, pointing out that on November 11 and 12, 2017, two political lobbying companies, Key Stone for Strategic Consulting, and “Grass Roots” for political advice, registered two contracts with parties related to Haftar.
The report pointed out that the Key Stone contract was in favor of the parallel government governor, stressing that the goal of the contract with the Grass Roots Company is to promote Haftar as “Libya’s future safety valve and savior of the country.” The agreement between the two parties stipulated that the company would pressure members of Congress in favor of the Haftar family.
The American website stated that the aforementioned contract lasted until October 2018 at a cost of $ 200,000, according to the documents of the US Department of Justice, while the Key Stone company contract began in December 2017 at a cost of $ 450,000 and ended in February 2018 and is in the name of Abdulrazaq Al-Nazouri, provided that they provide political advice and contacts Strategy, assistance in foreign relations.
The report added that the so-called “Decision Support Center” of Haftar’s militias signed a contract in May 2019 with the “Linden Government Solutions” company during the intensification of the conflict between Haftar’s militias and the army in the capital, Tripoli, provided that the company provides public relations services to support their militias, and the cost of the contract was $ 2 million, and they only got $ 775,000.
The report concluded its investigation that the last contracts in favor of Haftar were with the “Adam Jones” company in June 2019, without giving any further details.
It is worth noting that the newspaper “Politico” revealed in 2017 that Abdulrazzaq al-Nazouri had signed an agreement with a former assistant to the US Senator, “Bob Casey,” at a value of 450 thousand dollars; To form a pressure group inside the United States for Haftar and his militias.
