While the last stage of the Libyan political dialogue that began on November 9 of last year, after the UN mission to Libya announced early next February, the date for the announcement of the new executive authority that will be chosen by the participants in the dialogue committee, whose total number reached 75 participating members.
The mission announces the date of the government
The United Nations Support Mission in Libya announced that the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum will be held in Switzerland from February 1 to 5. To select candidates for the three positions in the Presidential Council and the Prime Minister.
The mission added that this selection will take place in accordance with the road map adopted by the Forum in mid-November in Tunis. This authority will be entrusted to lead Libya until elections are held on December 24th, and to reunify state institutions.
The arrival of the members in Geneva
After the mission announcement, member of the Forum for Political Dialogue, Abdul Qadir Haweli, confirmed to Arraed that the members of the Dialogue Forum have begun arriving in Geneva, and the rest of the members will join tomorrow.
As for the names of the candidates to occupy leading positions in the Presidential Council and the Prime Minister, their lists have not been clarified yet, and according to the mission, the lists of candidates are in its possession, and will not be announced until the last minute, and before the voting date during the Forum sessions.
It remains a wait for the coming days, until the results of the vote on choosing the presidential council and governmental authorities are clear, so that the Libyans know the names and personalities that will lead the next stage, for which the 24th of next December has been set as a deadline for holding presidential and parliamentary general elections, ending all the transitional stages that the country has gone through over the past years.
