The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the reopening of its embassy in the capital, Tripoli, in the coming days, after a 7-year closure.
The Foreign Ministry added in a statement, on Wednesday, that Algerian Foreign Minister Sabri Bouqadoum visited the embassy in Tripoli, in anticipation of the resumption of its diplomatic activities.
In a related context, Bouqadoum affirmed Algeria’s consistent position and solidarity with the Libyan people since the beginning of the crisis, calling for the need to reach a political settlement through a Libyan-Libyan dialogue that would lead to the establishment of legitimate and unified institutions through fair and transparent elections.
It is worth noting that the Algerian embassy in Tripoli closed its doors in 2014 after the security implications of the capital.
