February … the birth of a new government and the designation of incumbents for the sovereign positions

Libya is waiting next February for decisive political changes that put an end to the political and institutional division that has exhausted the country, tore apart the social fabric and plunged the country into the cycle of insecurity and wars.

February may be called the critical month because of the high hopes that the new government will be announced, the Presidential Council will be reconfigured, and the unified sovereign positions will be named.

Unified government in early February

On January 19, the UN mission announced the adoption of the mechanism for selecting the executive authority and opened the door for candidacy for the Presidential Council and for the presidency of the expected government on the 21st to the 27th of the same month.

From February 1 to February 5, the mission will hold a meeting of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum in Switzerland, after the candidacy process ends, to carry out the voting process on selecting candidates for the executive authority.

February .. Naming the occupants of the sovereign positions

Upon the completion of the selection of the executive authority, attention will turn to the beginning of February also to naming the occupants of the sovereign positions upon completion of the reception of the CVs of the applicants, which is February 2, according to the date chosen by the meeting in Bo_Zniqa, Morocco.

The sovereign positions whose occupants will be renamed include: Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, the Administrative Control Authority, the Audit Bureau, the High Elections Commission, and the Anti-Corruption Commission.

The Constitutional Committee

For its part, the Constitutional Committee continues its meetings to set the date for the referendum on the constitution, as the members of the committee agreed to resume discussions on the constitutional base from February 9 to 11 of the same month, in the presence of the High National Elections Commission.

We are now waiting for February and the political changes that it may bring to us, which may end the suffering that has exhausted the citizen and made him more anxious and constricted his livelihood.
