Member of the 5 + 5 Committee, Al-Fitouri Gribel to Arraed: Coordination is underway for the beginning of the withdrawal of military forces from the agreed-upon areas.

A member of the 5 + 5 Joint Military Committee, Brigadier General Al-Fitouri Gribeil, confirmed in a statement to Arraed Sunday that coordination is underway to start withdrawing the military forces from all agreed positions and gatherings.

Gribeil added that the reason for the delay in withdrawing the forces is their distribution in vast areas, as the matter needs time, effort and intensification.

Gribeil stressed the necessity of securing the citizens living in the areas from which these forces will withdraw, and not leaving them free of any sudden security manifestations, pointing out that these measures need arrangements and guarantees, which is what is happening now in terms of development and discussions.

Gribeil explained that the process of withdrawing mercenaries needs more time and agreement on mechanisms for withdrawing these forces from all parts of the country.

Gribeil indicated that the Ministry of Interior has prepared the security force that will secure these areas, after the withdrawal process, and it only needs to provide some logistical matters such as accommodation, catering, and others, indicating that they will meet again after completing this stage to address a new phase and lay down its provisions for its implementation.

In a related context, Gribeil explained that the international observers assigned by the United Nations to monitor the ceasefire will not be in large numbers, and their task will be to monitor the arrangements of the agreement and maintain work after implementation only.
