Al-Sayeh: The Electoral Commission requires time to rearrange the internal house due to withholding of funds by the presidential office.

The head of the High National Elections Commission, Imad Al-Sayeh, said that arranging the internal house of the commission needs 90 days, after funding was withheld from the commission by the Government of National Accord.

In his speech to the Tunisian Dialogue Committee, Al sayah added that funding, security, and the national number are among the most difficult challenges facing the commission.

Al sayah recommended the participation of the commission in drafting electoral laws in line with the technical methods for carrying out the elections, pointing out the need to involve all components in the electoral process, as is the case in the previous parliamentary electoral process.

It is worth noting that the terms of the agreement at the Tunis meeting lead to the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections 18 months after the formation of the new government.
