The House of Representatives in Tripoli and the President of the Supreme Council of State Khaled Al-Mishri called on the President of the Presidency Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, to postpone any decision related to the handover of power after his intention to hand over power at the end of this month.

Al-Mishri called in a statement, Al-Sarraj, to continue in his position and postpone his decision to hand over power until a new presidential council is chosen, in order to avoid any inevitable political vacuum, according to the statement.

In the same context, Al-Mishri said that the trend towards the Libyan political dialogue forum aims to achieve a unified vision about the framework and arrangements for governance and holding national elections.

It is worth noting that the President of the Presidency Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, announced on the 16th of last September, his readiness to hand over his duties to the executive authority, giving the dialogue committees until the end of the current month of October to agree to form a new presidential council.
