The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmed Al-Tayeb, said on Wednesday that the offensive cartoons of our great prophet are absurdity and slapstick, breaking away from all restrictions of responsibility and moral commitment, international custom, public law, and outright hostility, calling on the international community to pass legislation criminalizing hostility to Islam and Muslims.

Al-Tayyib stressed, during the Ministry of Islamic Affair’s celebration of the anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday, the need to adhere to peace and legal methods in defending the Prophet Mohammed, “Prayers and Peace be upon him”. and the Islamic religion, indicating that Al-Azhar will launch a global platform to promote the Prophet Mohammed in many languages ​​of the world.

It is worth noting that the citizens and institutions of several Muslim countries have denounced the statements of the French President “Emmanuel Macron”, against the background of the publication of insulting cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed, “Prayers and Peace be upon him”.
