The United Nations officially registers the Turkish-Libyan memorandum of understanding.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, approved the memorandum of maritime border demarcation between Turkey and Libya to be formally registered with the United Nations under Article 102 of the United Nations Charter.

On Friday, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced on its official account that the relationship with Libya extends to 500 years of shared history, confirming its continued support for the Government of National Accord in the field of training and consultations.

It is worth noting that the Turkish President, Rejep Tayyip Erdogan, signed two security and maritime memoranda of understanding in November 2019 with the Prime Minister of the GNA, Fayiz Al-Sarraj.
