Bashagha: “The reconciliation government recommended continuing to grant Palestinians the right to residency, education and treatment.”

Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha confirmed that the reconciliation government has issued instructions to the concerned authorities to grant Palestinians in Libya the right to residency, education and treatment, apply for work, and obtain licenses to practice activities, professions and crafts of various kinds.

The Chargé d’Affairs of the State of Palestine – during his meeting with Bashagha explained on Tuesday, that the Palestinian community in Libya feels comfortable and reassured, and no harassment has been recorded against them during their stay in the country.

It is worth noting that the Government of National Accord announced last February, its commitment to the rights of the Palestinian community in Libya, which have been granted to them since 2008, which guarantee Palestinian residents the right to education and treatment, and to apply for work, similar to Libyan citizens.
