Al-Moodi: “Emaar” gained more than 10,000 votes, and the results will be approved after the appeals period ends

A spokesman for the Central Committee for Municipal Council Elections, Basem Almoodi, said, Tuesday, that the “Emaar” list, which won the Misurata Municipal Council elections, after the announcement of the preliminary results, obtaining 10,313 votes.

Al-Moodi clarified in a statement to Arraed that the result will be finally approved within 72 hours if no appeals are submitted, stressing that the turnout process in the Misurata elections was somewhat weak for several reasons, including the Corona pandemic, electricity cuts, and the presence of a large number of people in the fighting axes in Sirte.

Al-Moodi added that Ibrahim Abdul Salam Saffar won in the category of people with special needs and revolutionaries with 5 thousand and 826 votes, and for the women’s category Hamida Mohamed Al-Manqoush with 6 thousand and 215 votes, pointing out that the number of registered voters reached 98 thousand and 379 voters, while the number of voters reached 28 thousand and 159.

It is worth noting that the Misurata municipality witnessed last Thursday its municipal council elections with a participation of 28% of the registered people.
