The Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, “Stephanie Williams, congratulated the people of Misurata on the success of the electoral process in the municipality, stressing that these elections demonstrated the determination of the Libyans to exercise their democratic rights in electing their representatives.
In a statement published by the mission, Williams urged all Libyan voters to take seriously the registration and participate more in the upcoming local elections, pointing out that this is a clear challenge to the many obstacles that their city and country face in these difficult times.
It is worth noting that the city of Misurata witnessed, on Thursday, an electoral process for its municipal council, with a 27.76% vote.
