The High Representative for Security and Foreign Policy in the European Union, Josep Borrell, stressed the need to withdraw all mercenaries and stop foreign interference and arms supplies to Libya.
Borrell acknowledged, during a press conference held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Thursday, with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, that the flow of weapons and mercenaries to Libya continues, calling on the Security Council to take a resolution on the information available to it about the violations, according to the Italian news agency AKI.
It is worth noting that Borrell, during his meeting with the President of the Presidential Council in Tripoli on Wednesday, reaffirmed the European Union’s support for the statements of Al-Sarraj and Aqeela Saleh to achieve security and peace in Libya.
