The Italian “Nova” agency confirmed Tuesday that Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha has a major role in combating terrorism, especially in the battle waged by the Government of National Accord to liberate Sirte from ISIS in 2016.
The agency added, according to its official website, that the Italian Foreign Minister, “Luigi De Mayo,” arrives in Tripoli today but does not wish to enter into a political clash “between the various government figures, according to the agency.
The agency stated that De Mayo’s visit “comes to push towards a final ceasefire agreement with the Libyan parties, noting that he will visit the Tobruk Parliament Chairman after his visits to Tripoli.”
The agency indicated that the Italian Foreign Ministry seeks to revitalize the mixed Italian-Libyan committee on economic issues to deal with the credits claimed by Italian companies and the prospects and projects of common interest to re-launch economic relations between the two countries.
