The Director of the National Center for Disease Control, Badr Addin Al-Najjar, stressed the need for the country to enter the stage of coexistence with the virus that the world entered by developing a specific strategy.
Al-Najjar explained, on Saturday, in a televised statement, that the lockdown and ban measures no longer work and the citizens are no longer committed to them, and that the epidemic has become part of the world until this moment, adding that the need for awareness is important so that health controls are adhered to, and citizens must adhere to masks and take precautionary measures.
Al-Najjar indicated that the noticeable increase in the number of cases came as a result of the lack of effective measures on the ground with regard to preventive and precautionary measures and citizen awareness.
Al-Najjar added that the exacerbation of the situation and the expansion of its areas, the spread of the Corona virus in Tripoli, Misurata, Zlitan, and some southern cities, has turned into a pattern of “community spread.”
It is worth noting that the number of Corona virus infections, on Sunday, reached 13,423 cases, 1,410 recoveries and 232 deaths, after recording 465 positive cases spread over 27 Libyan cities.
