Egypt and France welcomed the statements by Al-Sarraj and Aqeela for a ceasefire.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shokry and his French counterpart, Jean-Yves Le Drian, welcomed the statement, President of the GNA and Speaker of the Tobruk Parliament, for the ceasefire and military operations in all Libyan territories.

During a phone call with his French counterpart, on Sunday, Shokry emphasized the importance of the step towards achieving a political settlement and the aspirations of the Libyan people to restore stability and security and preserve their wealth.

The agreement will also contribute to a resolute confrontation to terrorist groups and foreign interventions that seek to inflame the situation.

The President of the Presidential Council and Parliament of Tobruk, on August 21, issued an order to stop all hostilities in the Libyan territories.
