German “Bild”: Russia will establish military bases in 6 African countries.

The German newspaper “Bild” revealed, on Tuesday, that Russia took permits to establish military bases in 6 African countries, including Egypt and Sudan.

The newspaper, quoting a secret report of the German Foreign Ministry, said that Russia has concluded military cooperation agreements with 21 African countries since 2015, and had cooperation agreements with only four countries in Africa before this year, adding that, according to these agreements, Moscow obtained guarantees to establish Military bases in Egypt, the Central African Republic, Eritrea, Madagascar, Mozambique, and Sudan.

The newspaper pointed out that Russia sometimes secretly trained the forces of these countries, and it had 180 soldiers in the Central African Republic, and Moscow trained about 20 military personnel from Mali in Russia annually.

The newspaper said, that Russia does not send official soldiers to African countries only, but rather actively operates there through the forces of security companies such as “Wagner” and according to German experts, Moscow aims through the forces of Russian security companies to achieve political, economic and military gains in Africa.

It is worth noting that mercenaries from the Russian company “Wagner” are currently stationed in the cities of Sirte and Aljufra, and some Libyan oil fields and installations.
