The Council notables of Misurata Municipal Council affirmed on Sunday that the government of reconciliation and the bodies that derive from the internationally recognized Skhirat Agreement are the ones representing the Libyans.
The Council refuse the visit of the delegation of the “sheikhs and notables of the Libyan tribes” to the Egyptian president and asking for his country’s militarily intervention in Libya, describing them as sheikhs of misguidance and their work as conspiracy and treason to the homeland .
The council added that these represent only themselves and their “shameful” history, and “among them are those who pledged allegiance to Gaddafi and Haftar” and now they pledge allegiance to “the tyranny of the Alsisi coup”, according to the description of the council’s statement.
The statement stressed the unity, freedom and independence of Libya, stressing that the wealth of Libya belongs to the Libyans and not others, and they are the ones who decide how to distribute it according to the constitution they adopt.
The statement called on the reconciliation government to address the public prosecutor to issue an arrest warrant for those who participated in the delegation and the “conspirators on the country.”
It is worth noting that the delegation of the so-called “sheikhs and notables of the tribes” called on Egyptian President Abdelfattah Alsisi to intervene militarily in Libya during their visit to him on July 16.
