The European Union demanded, on Tuesday, an immediate independent investigation into the mass graves that were found by the military forces of the city of Tarhuna after its liberation from the grip of Haftar militia, and bringing those responsible to justice.
The EU said, in a statement, that the discovery of 8 mass graves in the city of Tarhuna is a matter of great concern, calling for the cessation of hostilities and the agreement to find ways to reach a complete ceasefire, according to the Joint Military Committee, with the aim of an urgent return to the United Nations-led political process.
It is worth noting that the Libyan army forces announced the finding of a number of mass graves in Tarhuna city after the expulsion of the Haftar militias , last May.
