The head of the High National Elections Commission, Emad Alsaaih, discussed with the American ambassador to Libya, “Richard Norland,” Tuesday, the role of the commission as an independent institution, and preparing for good and credible elections in the country.
The two parties discussed, according to the official page of the American embassy, the need for the commission to be ready, and to be supported adequately to undertake such an effort, especially if a real political dialogue begins in the coming days.
For his part, “Norland” confirmed that his country will continue its partnership with the Commission, where all Libyans can register to vote and participate fully in the election of the country’s future leaders.
It is worth noting that the US ambassador to Libya confirmed, last May, that the United States of America is proud of its partnership with the legitimate government, the internationally recognized government of reconciliation.
