Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Qalan said that the reconciliation government will be the most important player on the table of the political solution, and that the position of the United States and Russia towards Haftar started to change, and Russia is considering building a political solution without Haftar.
In statements to the local newspaper Milliyet, they said that the United States believes that Haftar is not trust worthy and unreliable person, and that the American authorities are seeking to build a close relationship with the reconciliation government.
Qalan said that he spoke with Robert O’Brien, the National Security Adviser to the American President, and that it was agreed between them that Haftar’s activities in Libya are not constructive, pointing out that there is a general trend with the American authorities in building a close relationship with the government of reconciliation.
Qalan said that contacts with Russian President Vladimir Putin are continuing, indicating that the visit of Foreign Minister Mohamed Siala to Moscow is a very important development.
Qalan added that Turkey is cooperating with the legitimate government; In order to reach a solution in Libya, and to pave the way for the political process.
