Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said on Sunday that the coup leader Haftar is only concerned with the political process and dialogue when he loses in military battles.
Al Thani added, according to the Turkish news agency “Anatolia” that since the signing of the Skhirat agreement, we affirmed that the Libyan conflict is resolved by a political process, not by coups and military aggression, noting that Haftar has always preferred the use of violence, and if he loses he returns to the political solution, after which he returns to the use of force again .
Al-Thani stressed that the international community must comply with the political process within the framework of international law and United Nations resolutions, which saves many lives of the Libyan people and the country’s resources, according to him.
It is worth noting that the Egyptian President Abdelfattah El-Sisi announced, on Saturday, from Cairo in the presence of the head of the aggressor militia Hifter and the head of the deputies of Tobruk Aqeela Saleh, a political initiative to end the conflict in Libya. It calls for a ceasefire and the formation of a new presidential council composed of a president, two deputies, and a separate head of government in a transitional period of one and a half years.
