Turkish presidential spokesperson, Ibrahim Qalan, confirmed on Sunday that Russia’s support for Haftar via “Wagner” company lacks legitimacy, and his country continues to stand with the legitimate government.
Qalan said , in statements carried by the “Anatolia” news agency, that Turkey is continuing to support the legitimate government in order to get the Libyans out of this crisis as soon as possible, and to end the clashes, stressing his country’s keenness to achieve stability in Libya.
Qalan called on countries and parties supporting Haftar, such as Russia and France, to cut ties with him, stop supporting him, and cooperate to find a political solution by working together with the rest of the parties under the auspices of the United Nations.
Galan said that Turkey does not give great value the threats of Haftar, pointing out that Haftar is stealing the Libyan people’s oil to finance his war by selling it illegally, and he violated the ceasefire agreements.
It is worth noting that the United States of America announced, Friday, its rejection of the Russian presence in Libya, after monitoring the landing of Russian warplanes at the Al-Jufra air base.
