The United Nations Secretary-General, “Antonio Guterres”, condemned, on Wednesday, the planting of Haftar militias of explosives in the residential areas from which they withdrew south of the capital, Tripoli, which resulted in the death of civilians and the injury of others.
Guterres’ spokesman Stephane Dujarric said in a statement that Guterres was deeply concerned and condemned the use of fleeing Haftar’s militias, for improvised explosive devices, in residential areas south of Tripoli.
Dujarric called on all countries of the world to respect UN arms embargoe resolutions and support their full implementation, adding that the UN mission in Libya called on civilians in Tripoli to respond to security advice to stay away from areas that the GNA had not declared safe.
It is worth noting that Guterres informed the Security Council on Wednesday of the killing of 58 civilians and the injury of at least 190 others in Libya since the beginning of last April until the 18th of May.
