Williams welcomes Asarraj’s call and calls for the resumption of the political track.

Acting on behalf of the United Nations Secretary-General Stephanie Williams discussed with President of GNA , Fayez Al-Sarraj, his latest statement, in which he called on all parties and political forces to urgently resume the political dialogue under the auspices of the mission.

Williams considered, according to the official mission page on Wednesday, that this initiative and other positive initiatives create momentum that can be built upon, in order to stop the fighting and revive a comprehensive political process, expressing its readiness to resume the political track based on the outputs of the Berlin Conference and Security Council Resolution 2510, It renewed its appeal to all parties to stop fighting and spare Libyans from the scourge of the conflict.

It is worth noting that President of the GNA, Fayez Asarraj, called on all political parties and powers to assume their responsibility to end the division and accelerate the resumption of political dialogue under the auspices of the UN mission, in preparation for the next stage, and agreeing to a comprehensive road map and political track that brings together all Libyans.
