The Libyan army forces of the Volcano of Anger operation continue the siege of Tarhuna, which is controlled by criminal Alkani gangs.
The field commander of the operation, “Mohamed al-Qnaidi,” said that the Haftar militias stationed at Tarhuna, represented by the criminal Alkani gangs, tried last night to break the stifling siege on them and advance towards the Arhameein area of Tarhuna.
He continued in his speech to Arraed that the army forces repelled the advance after luring the gangs in an tight ambush, killing 8 of its members and destroying 7 of its armed vehicles, adding that their forces did not retreat from any of their positions, and they continue to blockade Tarhuna from all their outlets, except for a safe passage that was opened for exit of Families.
Al-Qneidi added that their forces yesterday captured a cell belonging to the Haftar militias that was trying to destabilize security and stability in Alqarabuli area.
It is worth noting that the Libyan army forces announced, last Saturday, the launch of the operation to liberate Tarhuna from the gangs controling it as part of Operation “Peace Storm”.
