The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs deplored on Sunday, the storming of elements belonging Hifter of the Azwaitina oil port in eastern Libya, and stopping exports from it.
The ministry confirmed, in an official statement, that Libya’s wealth belongs to the Libyans, and neither party has the right to manipulate the country’s capabilities and use it as a pressing card.
The statement added that the attack of Hifter militias on the legitimacy of the state caused the suffering of thousands of displaced people and immigrants who are not guilty in this war.
The Ministry called on the international community and the Security Council to carry out its responsibilities by criminalizing and restraining all armed groups outside the law, preserving the integrity and unity of Libyan lands, and establishing the legal and political foundations for the construction of a civil state.
The ministry indicated that the beginning of the solution in Libya is to return to the political track, and work to build the civil and military institutions of the state through national consensus.
It is worth noting that the State of Qatar has expressed, on more than one occasion, its support for the country’s legitimacy represented by the GNA, and expressed its rejection of the military aggression led by Khalifa Hifter against the capital, Tripoli.
