The Presidential council replies to Asisi’s statements and warns him against violating Libya’s sovereignty.

The Presidential Council condemned the statements of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Asisi and his threat of a direct intervention in Libya.

The Presidential council In an official statement called on the Egyptian authorities to review their stance on the Libyan crisis and play a positive role that reflects the depth of historical relations between the two countries.

The statement stressed the need for Egypt to stop supporting armed formations outside the internationally recognized legitimacy, calling on it to play an important role that has the trust of all in the framework of supporting stability and peace in Libya.

The statement indicated that the Presidential council understands Egypt’s right to maintain its national security, stressing at the same time that the Council will not accept any threat to Libyan national sovereignty.

It is worth noting that the Egyptian President Asisi described, on Monday, the GNA as the “kidnapped government”.
