The Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that the US State Department’s accusations against Russia of destabilizing Libya and the deployment of military companies there are “false and baseless news.”
The Russian statement follows accusations from the US State Department, which confirmed that there are reports of Russia’s involvement in destabilizing Libya by supporting Hiftir with mercenaries.
The President of the Presidential Council Fayez Sarraj stressed earlier that there is evidence confirming the participation of Russian mercenaries with Hifter, and requested Moscow to investigate it.
It is worth noting that the spokesman for the Hifter forces supporting the aggression on Tripoli, admitted, on Saturday, during a statement to the presence of Russian troops supporting him in his war on Tripoli.
