The US embassy in Libya on Tuesday described for the first time the aggression against the capital Tripoli as “hostilities.”
The embassy description came on the fringe of a meeting between US Ambassador to Libya Richard Norland and President of the Presidential Council Fayez al-Sarraj to discuss the cessation of hostilities around Tripoli and the efforts to find a political solution to the conflict in light of the escalation of the Russian intervention.
It is worth noting that US officials met on Tuesday in the Jordanian capital, Amman, with Hifter to warn him of the aggravation of the Russian intervention which is fueling the conflict in Libya.
