Russian news agency “Sputnik” confirmed that there are reports of the release of two Russian sailors of the maritime carrier “Timitron” seized by the Libyan Coast Guard in June 2016.
“I received a call from one of the African diplomats working in Europe, and I was told that the Russian sailors, captain and assistant captain, Vladimir Tekochev, and Sergey Samuelov, who had been in jail for three years, were released,” the agency quoted the head of the Russian National Values Protection Fund, Alexander Malkiewicz, as saying on Friday.
Malikovic said he was waiting for the official confirmation of this information, adding that through the efforts of foreign diplomats and the efforts of the international community, we have achieved the desired results, according to Sputnik.
