President of the Presidential Council Faiz Al-Sarraj called on the African Union to immediately send a commission of inquiry to uncover the circumstances of the war crime of aerial bombardment of a shelter for migrants in Tajoura and to issue a clear and explicit condemnation of the crime.
Al-Serraj said in his speech at the African Union summit in Niger on Sunday that the attack on the capital caused the deaths of more than 1,000 people, including civilians, after systematic bombardment of flights, rockets and heavy weapons to highly populated neighborhoods, facilities and civilian facilities, as well as the displacement of thousands of families.
Al-Serraj said that the attack is a coup attempt aimed at restoring the country to totalitarian military rule, the rule of the individual and the family, contrary to what the Libyans aspire to build a civil state based on citizenship, guarantee public freedoms and achieve social justice.
Al-Sarraj, who heads the Maghreb Union at the current session, warned that the atmosphere of war that accompanies the aggression creates an additional challenge and represents an appropriate platform for the return of the state and other terrorist organizations to the country.
