Al-Meshri Discusses In Moscow Ways To Resolve The Libyan Crisis

Head of the High Council of State (HCS) Khalid Al-Meshri, on Monday, discussed with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov ways to resolve the Libyan crisis and stressed the need for a comprehensive political process aimed at holding general elections and forming unified and effective state institutions.

In a statement posted on the ministry’s official website, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the meeting discussed the importance of maintaining an intensive Russian-Libyan political dialogue and Russia’s use of its diplomatic capabilities as part of efforts to stabilize Libya.

Russia supported the holding of the National Conference with the participation of all Libyan political forces and regions, which is part of the United Nations action plan for Libya, the ministry said in a statement.

The head of the Supreme Council of State Khalid al-Mashri arrived in Moscow on Sunday for a days-long visit.
