Al-Shuwehdi: The Supreme Council’s Statement Is Right And The HOR Violated The Constitutional Declaration

A member of the House of Representatives (HOR) Jalal Al-Shuwehdi, on Tuesday, stated that the statement issued by the Supreme Council of the State regarding the constitutional amendments made by the House of Representatives is”intact and in the right direction,” because what the HOR had done contradicts the constitutional declaration.

In a statement to ArraedLg, Al-Shuwehdi said that the House of Representatives has set “impossible” and completely “rejected” conditions for the referendum law in such a way as to prevent the emergence of a constitution for the Libyan state, in violation of the constitutional declaration. He pointed out that the House of Representatives should have shared the amendments they’ve made with the Supreme Council.

The Supreme Council of State rejected in a statement, on Monday, the Article II of the tenth constitutional amendment and considered the tenth and eleventh amendments to the constitutional declaration issued by the House of Representatives, contradictory to the text of the article 12 of the additional provisions in the political agreement.
