Member of the House of Representatives (HOR) Seham Sarqiwa described the request of the commander of Al-Karama forces Khalifa Hifter, to transfer the powers of the Commander-in-Chief of the General Command, a coup against the legitimate authority represented by the Parliament.
In a press statement, on Monday, SarqiHwa said that Hifter was appointed without being elected by the House of Representative and that the only one able to remove him or retain him is the President of the Council Auqila Saleh, who appointed him in this post.
The head of the Supreme Council of State, Khali Al-Meshri, said in a media statement that Hifter exerted pressure on the president of the presidential council (PC), Faiz al-Sarraj, through his negotiations on the post of commander-in-chief of the army in return for the survival of the presidential system.
