Russia: We See No Alternative to Dialogue to Resolve the Libyan Crisis

The First Deputy Director of the Russian government, “Sergei Prikhodko”, on Tuesday, stated that his country sees no alternative to dialogue in resolving the crisis in Libya, and it urges all parties to continue to resolve the crisis.

In a meeting with the Russian agency, Sputnik, Prikhodko said that the political agreement signed in the western city Al-Skhirat is the only viable basis for achieving a long settlement.

Prikhodko said that Russia will take no sides of all parties in Libya and that it maintains a balanced contact with all of its main military and political forces.

The Russian Foreign Minister “Siri Lavrov” has said in a previous statement, that the Libyan political agreement is the basis of the solution in Libya and that his country supports the dialogue that helps in resolving the Libyan crisis
